Junior/Cadet

At Essex County we have a dedicated Cadet section for players, both boys and girls, aged up to 20 (or until they leave full-time education). Over the years our Cadet section has produced multiple International players and a wealth of top Essex players. We have a number of fully CRB checked coaches who help run the section alongside Cadet Master Matthew who himself is an ex-Cadet.

The Cadets were formed in 1975 and operate as a part of our Outdoor club, they have their own team in the local Group 6 league, as well as participating in any other competition or match held at the club if they choose to.

The Juniors were formed in 1985 to introduce boys and girls to the game of Indoor bowls. This section is again open to both boys and girls, who must be under the age of 16. Playing times are each Thursday evening at 18:30 to 20:30 but again, Juniors very often play in weekly leagues and club competitions also.

Our Cadet and Junior sections show that bowls is truly a game for all ages!
